Description
Adult
Forewing length of 7-12 mm. Forewings golden ochreous mottled with brown. An incomplete band runs from the middle of the costa towards the bottom corner. Hindwings are white to ochreous-white, sometimes speckled with grey.
Larvae
Late instars reach 22-26 mm in length. Body pale green with a brown head. The prothoracic plate is pale brown to pale green with brown mottling. An anal comb is present with 6-9 teeth.

Laid in masses on leaves.

Symptoms/Signs
Larvae feed on leaves, flowers, buds and fruit. Leaves are folded together using silk and growing points can be deformed as a result of feeding damage. Scars on fruit are also caused by fruit feeding.
