Description

Adult

Forewing length of 5-6 mm. Forewing dark brown often suffused with purplish or pinkish sheen, marked with darker and reddish-brown markings. Apex of wing yellowish-brown with a slightly curved dorsal blotch formed from 4 short greyish lines. Head and thorax orangey-brown.

Larvae

Late instar larvae reach 12 mm long. Body yellowish-white, segments tinged with pink around the middle. Pinacula are concolorous with the skin. Head pale brown, darker posteriorly and prothoracic plate weakly sclerotized. Anal plate pale brown marked with small blackish spots.

Eggs

Translucent 0.8 x 0.7 mm in size. Laid on fruit.
