Description

Adult

Wingspan of 18-22 mm. Forewings fawn brown to orangish coloured with dark mottling across the wing.

Larvae

Length up to 25 mm. Body dirty white or yellow green with a brown to straw coloured head and prothoracic plate.

Eggs

Pale green to cream coloured, flat, oval eggs laid in clusters on the upper and lower surfaces of leaves.

Distribution

The United States.

Economic Host(s)

A range of fruit trees and shrubs including citrus, grape (Vitis) and avocado (Persea)

Symptoms/Signs

Larvae feed on developing buds, leaves and the surface of fruits. Fruit feeding leaves shallow pits and malformed skin. Leaves are webbed together with silk.
